Color Selection & Coating Performance
At JNL Steel, we understand that both appearance and durability are essential when choosing materials for your project. Our pre-finished metal panels and trim are available in a variety of colors with high-quality coatings designed for long-term performance.
Color Accuracy & Warranty
- Final color selection should be made from actual color chips to ensure accuracy.
- A 40-year limited paint warranty is available for all colors upon request, with additional options like 10-year or 25-year warranties also offered.
Solar Reflectivity & Energy Efficiency
The color and coating of your metal panels impact more than aesthetics—they also affect energy efficiency.
- Solar Reflectivity (SR): Measures how much solar energy a surface reflects, ranging from 0 to 1. A value of 0 indicates total absorption, while 1 represents full reflection.
- Solar Reflectance Index (SRI): Determines compliance with LEED requirements, calculated based on ASTM E 1980. To meet LEED standards, roofing materials should have:
- SRI of 29 or greater for steep slope roofing
- SRI of 78 or higher for low slope roofing
